A Walk Down Memory Lane

So, after seeing so many others' favorites of 2009, I decided to take myself a little stroll through my layout gallerty. Here are what I consider my best layouts of this past year. In alphabetical order.

2 Silly: I chose this layout for three reasons . . . circles, pinwheel, ruffle. Fun!



Best Friends: Um, pink and green, my best friend, crackle-painted chipboard butterflies, scalloped circle, Scenic Route, stick pins, stitching, book paper, pearls . . . yeah, that covers it.



Boys of Mine: This is my favorite double-pager. LOVED that piece of scalloped paper turned on its side, the fabric tag flowers, and the Smooch-painted grunge board.



Captain Underpants: These photos really demonstrate my toddler's personality. And who can resist October Afternoon and a "punny" title?



Colors of Fall: I loved that I FINALLY used the funky tree chipboard that I had in my stash for over a year. I also like the stitching and the brad clusters.



Face to the Sun: It was with this layout that I fell in LOVE with October Afternoon, clustering, and turquoise and yellow.



Flag Wavers: This is my FIRST time to use Glimmer Mist and spot color in a photo. Oh, and more October Afternoon.



Look Whooos Talking: I like all the whimiscial parts of this one. The tree. The clouds. The stick pin flowers. I also like that the entire page was pretty much stash.



Paper Boys: Mainly, I love this paper. Those owls are a hoot! Tee hee.



It was soooo much fun to look back at my gallery for the year. Thanks for indulging me! Thanks, too, for making my first year of blogging so much fun. I look forward to sharing another year with you. And I hope we all have a happy, healthy 2010!

Worth the Wait

October was my month to guest design over at Scrapperie Kit Boutique. Sandi put together some fabulous kits using Bo Bunny Gypsy and Kitchen Spice and SEI Moravia collections. I got to use the Spice of Life Extras kit. Due to some delays in product shipping, I just got the kit last week, but it was WELL worth the wait. See!



I plan to create several layouts and a couple of cards with the kit and I'll share them as I get them done. I was in a hurry to put up this first one because all of Sandy's kits are on SERIOUS closeout prices HERE. The one pictured here is only $16.00. What a deal!

Last Kiss: My Sister-in-Law Charlotte and her husband Steve had their bachelor/bachelorette parties on the same night. This is them getting one last kiss before going out. Sweet! I used the backside of SEI Moravia paper and two sheets of Bo Bunny's Kitchen Spice. The alphas are Thickers, and the flower branch is Prima. And the design is Creative Scrappers sketch #84.

Ok, one more post

before I hole up in my bedroom and wrap presents until morning. Why do I do that to myself? Every year I tell ya. Every year.

Might be becuase I'd rather be scrapping than wrapping. I completed these two last night.

Snow Way: We were absolutely amazed when we got enough snow to build snowmen and throw snowballs. It just doesn't do that in Louisiana. My toddler just held the snow and admired it. Then when he fell down and got snow in his pants, he had enough and we had to go inside.

A Gift from Santa: We went to the sweetest little Christmas dinner at my Aunt's church. We had gumbo and all the dessert you could imagine. Then Santa showed up and gave my kids each a present. My kids were so excited. Magical.

Well, that's all I have time for today. The Christmas Eve countdown has begun. My kids are about to burst and my husband is egging it on. All I can say is I hope the photos come out. LOL!

Another great sketch from The Scrappiest

Liz designed the perfect sketch for your favorite holiday photo, complete with dangling ornaments and white space.



I know, hun? FANTASTIC! I really wanted to use it for some photos of my family decorating the tree, but for some reason this amateur photographer can't take pictures near the tree worth a poop. So, instead, I scrapped a festive picture of my toddler.

Merry & Bright: Doesn't he look merry? And with that red hair and those sparkly blue eyes, he is most definitely bright. Won't smile for the camera for nothing. Stinker.

Ok, let me just go on record here and say my new favorite thing is BIG, BOLD, PAPER PIECED accents. Seriously, after I made those poinsettias, I felt done with the page. I had to make myself add a few other things.

Sweet Cheri Card and Tag Set

Imaginisce's "Sweet Cheri" line is lovely. Pink, purple, cream with a touch of blue. Cupcakes, hearts, and flowers. Even though it's the Christmas season, I can't stay away from the sweet stuff.

Sweetie Pie Card: Two pieces of patterned paper, a strip of ribbon, three flowers, and two stacked stickers. Sweet!



Cherrish Tag: More paper, cardstock, ribbon, flowers, and chipboard. To add a little more texture, I used some ribbon to make leaves for the flower.



Okay, back to Christmas. I'm having a tea party tomorrow, and my fancy hat is calling. See you soon!

So Long So Sketchy!

Today is my last reveal for So Sketchy. Sniff, sniff . . . Allison is shutting down the site at the end of the month. She's doing it in style, too! All month long, she's been posting sketches designed specifically for current and past Sistas. Today is my day. Here's what I did.

Fresh: My little guy LOVES to pick and eat oranges and satsumas from his MawMaw's trees. I don't mean one or two. No. Several. He ends up regretting it later, too. Poor guy. We try to keep him away from the oranges, but he's sneaky. And fast. Oh well, at least it's not candy.

Last Week for Scrapping Out LOUD!

It's the last challenge at Scrapping Out LOUD! and it might just be the most challenging one yet. Roy-G-Biv: Use all the colors of the rainbow on this week's layout. Yep, in the midst of the Christmas season! Here's what I did.

One Sweet Summer: I've had these pictures of my little guy scarfing down a Drumstick since summer. I never found the right opportunity to scrap them. But the stripes on his shirt said rainbow to me, so they seemed perfect for this challenge. Don't you love it when that happens?

The Scrappiest # 43 Meets Sweet Cheri

Oh me, isn't that Ca-UTE? I love the four tags in the background, the little embellie clusters, and all that glorious white space. Here's my version.

Party Girls: My mother-in-law, my sister-in-law, and I were acting silly before heading out for my sister-in-law's bachelorette party. It was the beginning of a really fun night.

A Magical Night

Just wanted to share a couple of sweet photos of my kiddos at the church Christmas party tonight. Santa made an appearance, and my boys were in awe.



I just love their faces in these two photos. Such childlike wonder and innocence. It was magical!

Taking a Break from Christmas

I have put aside the red and green Christmas papers and the photos with Santa for just a bit, so I can play with Imaginisce's Sweet Cheri line. It is pink, red, purple, and cream and features hearts, cupcakes, love birds, chocolates, and cherries. Just perfect for all things sweet and lovely! Like this altered coupon folder that I made for my two boys.











Well, now that I've gotten a little jump on my Valentine's gifts, I better get back to Christmas . . . shopping, wrapping, baking. Oh, what fun!
