In My Neighborhood

We had hoola-hooping, a limbo contest, a sweet walk, musical chairs, an egg hunt, hamburgers, a balloon man, friendly neighbors, and wonderful memories. All because a group of ladies in my neighborhood decided to organize a Spring Fest. It was fantastic!

Just so you know, that balloon fish survived just long enough for me to snap a picture. When it popped, I heard the pain it caused the balloon man who had just blown it up.

Howdy Neighbor

Hope you are enjoying some beautiful spring weather. We sure are. Mild, sunny, breezy. LOVE it! And since it is the first day of Spring Break, I am hoping to get to enjoy plenty of it.

Here's a little project I made to wrap the door prizes for my neighborhood's Spring Fest.

The bag is a plain brown lunch sack that I trimmed down about 3" with my pinking sheers. The die cuts are from my Making Memories Slice Spring cartridge. Each one is cut at 4" from a piece of Martha Stewart paper. Then I dug into my stash of buttons and brads to finish them off. Quick and easy and CA-UTE!

More Live LOUD Cards and Tombow Swap

This week Imaginisce and Tombow are having a blog swap, posting projects created with each other's products. The Imaginisce Design Team got a fabulous variety of Tombow products, adhesives and ink pens.

I haven't played with the pens yet . . . I have a date with them tonight! ;) But here are two cards that I made using the Tombow adhesives and Imaginisce's Live LOUD collection.

So, what is so special about Tombow adhesives? Well, their Adhesive Dots tape runner is just perfect for attaching ribbon. It glides on easily and doesn't grab the ribbon while rolling. As you can see, I really liked how well it worked . . . there's a LOT of ribbon here.

Another goodie is their Aqua Liquid Glue. It has a pen tip and a broad tip applicator. I used the broad tip applicator to attach white cardstock to plain chipboard for die cutting my stars. The applicator is perfect for spreading out the glue without any mess and it takes such a small amount to cover your surface. And it dried quickly without any bumps or ridges. Perfect!

Live LOUD CD Holder

I've been waiting for a chance to use my Bind-It-All that my husband got me for Christmas. The right project has just not come along. Well, at least not one that would make me dig out the directions and figure out how to use the contraption. I am sooooo not an instruction manual kind of gal. But the other night while creating a layout with Imaginisce's new Live LOUD collection, it hit me. A CD Holder. Yep, I was inspired enough to use the machine. And oh my gosh . . . I LOVE IT!!!

Livin' LOUD

Imaginisce's new Live LOUD line is rockin' my scrappy world. I just love all the boy colors and music theme. With a house full of Guitar Hero lovin' boys, I am set to scrap for a while. Here's two projects that I whipped up this weekend.

Wii Rock: My oldest sings and my youngest bangs on the drum (even though he's not really playing) and I wear ear plugs and smile. Tee hee! I'm loving that all the papers are two sided, so there are plenty of busy and neutral of patterns for building the page. And the retro vibe of these papers is a lot of fun, too. For my alphas, I peeled the top off some old Lil Davis chunky chipboard and then covered them with vintage music paper. Tombow sent us some fabulous Liquid Glue that made altering my alphas a snap.

Rock Ur BDay: I created this rockin' card for my son's friend's birthday. I die cut the stars using my Sizzix and some of the packaging. Easy, but cute!

The Full Monty

Well, apparently, you scrappy people did not want to see just a little peek. You wanted to see the full monty. Tst. . .tst. . .naughty scrappy people. LOL!

4 of a Kind: Glimmer misted Kraft cardstock--one of my new favorites. Love the repetition of the number four . . . on the card, on the butterflies, with the chipboard ducks. I used a variety of paper handmade paper flowers on this one. I'll be discussing those in detail at the Paper Poppy blog later in the month.

Always and Forever: It's rare that I have a photo of my husband and me to scrap. My nine-year-old snapped this one. Good job, hun? Teach 'em young my friends. I love, love, love the Jenni Bowlin banner stickers that came in the kit. They make a fun little title. My favorite little touch on this one is the Jenni Bowlin tiny circle alphas on the green buttons. They say A and J, our initials. Awww....sweet.

Yard Boys: I love how well the Cosmo Cricket paper blends with the Jenni Bowlin paper. Happy colors! I painted the Cosmo Cricket chipboard alphas to match the yellow in the paper. Never enough yellow.

Ok, now on to my favorite projects. The cards. Yeah, I know, not usually a card person, but I went gaga over the Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety chipboard that came in the Add-on. Too stinkin' CA-ute! And those corny titles? Well, I have no excuse. They just make me laugh.

Imaginisce's March Sketch

Hi there Scrappers! The March sketch was posted over at Imaginisce today. The fabulously talented Erin Bassett created this clean sketch with three square photos, perfectly placed embellishment clusters, and plenty of white space. LOVE it.

Scooting Along: For my layout, I scrapped some photos of my toddler scooting around on his new tricycle. He loves to peddle up and down the driveway. He's a joy to watch.

Good thing the sketch didn't require much patterned paper because I've just about used up all my Scooter's Vacation. It has been sooooo easy to use with all the boy photos I take. To create my background paper, I used the scooter stamp and some dark brown Staz-on ink and then colored in all the little hearts with a red Zig marker. I really like this neutral background.
