TSR August Sneak

This past week at The ScrapRoom, we've been sharing our sneaks for the August kit.  For my layout, I was assigned Echo Park's Note to Self collection. Soooo perfect for scrapping a family of boys.  I chose one of my favorite pictures from last summer . . . my three guys ready to leave for the beach.

Doodlebug and Scor-Pal Pool Party Invitation

This week is Scor-Pal Week on the Doodlebug Blog.  We'll be sharing tons of ideas for using your Scor-Pal with your Doodlebug products.  I've had a little sneak, and let me just say, it's a great combination!

For my project, I created a pool party invitation using the Scor-Buddy and Doodlebug's Hello Spring Collection.

To create the flip flops, I downloaded THIS template and then cut them out of pink polka dot paper.  I used green dotted swiss ribbon for the straps and then topped them off with an accordion flower that was scored at 1/4".  You can find a good tutorial for the accordion flower HERE.  Rather than simply folding your paper, you will use the Scor-Buddy or Scor-Pal to score it first.  That is a huge timesaver and keeps your folds universal.

Doodlebug's Limeade Boutique Buttons were a perfect finish for the flowers.  And for some more whimsy, I added some Bumblebee Doodle Twine.

For some more texture on my card, I used the Scor-Buddy to create a diamond pattern on a piece of white paper.  I scored diagonal lines at 1/2" intervals and then cut the cardstock down to size.

And then to finish off the invitation, I added a Multi-Colored You're Invited Doodles Cardstock Sticker.

TSR July Page Starter -- Take Two

While you're reading this post, I am at a three-day crop in beautiful Natchez, Mississippi with a couple of my fun, scrappy friends.  My main task for the crop is to finish my gallery work with The ScrapRoom's August kit (which is totally FABULOUS, by the way).  In the meantime, I thought I'd remind you of our Page Starter Challenge that will be ending on Tuesday, July 31st. First Clovers of Spring

The denim scalloped sticker that I used on the right side of the page is barely visible in this photo, but it sure made for a good substitute for paper.  Love that it was peel and stick.

TSR June and July Recipe Cards

Doing a little catch-up at the blog today. I came to post my July Recipe Card from The ScrapRoom and realized I never posted the one from June.  So today is a double double.

The French Quarter

This one uses Bazzill's Wayfarer line.  LOVE the paper with the map on it.  Perfect for some travel pics.  I did some fussy cutting of the clock paper, a little clustering of embellies, and a pennant banner.  Pretty quick and easy. 

Peace, Love, & Crawfish

This one is Simple Stories' Fabulous line.  The outdoorsy feel to it made me think of our Spring Crawfish Boil.  The title might be a bit of a stretch, but I thought it was funny.

TSR July Sketch

The July sketch for The ScrapRoom went up today.  I designed it specifically for a TSR kit, which comes with three patterned papers, coordinating cardstock, and a handful of embellishments.

Here's my take on the sketch.  I used Pink Paislee's Prairie Hill line along with a coordinating chipboard piece and three wooden buttons.  The alphas were from my stash.

You Will Soar

This photo was taken after the 6th Grade Awards/Graduation. I was so proud of all of son's many accomplishments. It was a nice celebration after a year of hard work.

Magical Journey

My June ScrapRoom kit came with Crate Paper's Story Teller line, including the 12 x 12 Chipboard Sheet.  The primary red, blue, yellow colors and the travel motifs were crying out for some Disney pics.  These were taken on the first day of the first trip to Magic Kingdom.  The kids were all decked out in their Mickey Mouse shirts and hats.  Their excitement was contagious.  And, well, magical!

Can you tell I really liked the chipboard?  I just kept layering and layering the different pieces until I felt the layout was heavy full enough.  LOL!
